Mi3 SECURITY ANNOUNCES IMMEDIATE AVAILABILITY OF APPVISUALIZER
Real-time, graphical analysis service delivers detailed, contextual visualization and app cross-correlation, revealing risks from suspect code, developers, and resources
Mountain View, Calif. – November 3, 2015 – Mi3 Security, Inc., announced today the immediate availability of its second, app security platform: AppVisualizer, a real-time, graphical, visual analysis service that reveals at a glance the correlation between: apps, risks, and conditions.
“In our current AppVisualizer deployments, and testing, our customers are seeing unparalleled results,” said Kevin Mullenex, CEO, and Co-founder, of Mi3 Security. “There is simply nothing else like it on the market. With just a click, security operations managers can see where their vulnerabilities lie, and how close their apps are to suspect code, developers, and resources.”
“As companies increasingly leverage 3rd party mobile apps to put corporate data in the hands of employees, there is a real need to understand the permissions and behaviors of these apps,” says Chris Hazelton, Research Director for Enterprise Mobility at 451 Research. “Without a deep understanding of how apps behave and their relationships with other apps and developers, IT is putting corporate data and users at risk. Mi3Security’s AppVisualizer is able to visually connect the dots between risky behaviors and risky apps, helping IT to make go – no go decisions on app deployments.”
AppVisualizer delivers real-time, visual analysis that reveals hidden, risky relationships that would be impossible to detect using text-based reporting tools. Leveraging Mi3’s deep, globally sourced, app database, AppVisualizer renders a complete picture of an app’s behavior and relationships, exposing – in real time – suspicious connections that could compromise an enterprise’s security.
AppVisualizer’s analysis begins with a simple depiction of an app (“+” at center), and its Code, Certificates, and Domains (surrounding nodes).
AppVisualizer reveals the correlation between apps, risks, and conditions – with a click and a glance, making it easy for IT to see:
- Connections to suspect domains and distribution points
- Use of suspicious, shared code between apps
- A visual rendering of developer CVs, showing their connections to both good and bad apps
- Connections to known bad apps
- The relationships between known good and bad apps, revealing how close risks can be
AppVisualizer provides real-time analysis, so IT managers can take immediate action, based on accurate intelligence.
Clicking one of the nodes in AppVisualizer expands it, revealing the relationships between apps, risks and conditions. In this example, a malware farm (red connections) is revealed as just a click away from the app (“N” in upper left).
Clicking all of the nodes in AppVisualizer exposes all of an app’s relationships – both safe (green) and risky (red).
AppVisualizer is a SaaS service, available to enterprise and government IT. Service pricing is based on the number of apps analyzed or number of users.
With its global, intelligence gathering and deep app analysis, Mi3 Security gives enterprise IT management the actionable data it needs to understand an app’s Content, Intent, and Context – visually, letting them recognize and predict which apps pose the greatest risks, and take action to prevent a breach before it happens.
